Hi......
Today, 23rd June, we watched the lecture available on this link with the theme: Should we worry about our language in digital age?, with Carmen Lee.
Carmen Lee is a sociolinguist, professor at the University of Hong Kong, writer and researcher with several published articles. She is the author of the book "Language Online: texts and digital practices", with David Barton.
It was very interesting to hear her talk about the changes in the way we communicate, especially when the researcher exposes an excerpt of a message written in English abbreviations. It's a lecture we should attend whenever possible, especially when we don't understand the processes by which language changes in its various contexts of use.
